Due to Xfinity/Comcasts’ inabiltity to keep up with internet traffic, the internet in my part of the world was down last night. I couldn’t post my word count at the NaNoWriMo site, and I couldn’t add a post to my own site. I was so frustrated with the whole thing, and thought about calling them to complain. But then I thought, why waste my breath? They don’t care that my service was down, and they certainly won’t a) give me a refund for the lost time nor b) upgrade their cables to keep up with the growing traffic. So instead, I read Fingersmith by Sarah Waters and had a lovely hot bath before I went to bed. So there! Take that Comcast!
I’ve included the word count for both Day Ten and Day Eleven in this post.
Here’s the current word count:
Day One – 1,998
Day Two – 2,122
Day Three – 1,820
Day Four – 1,820
Day Five – 1,930
Day Six – 1,601
Day Seven – 1,729
Day Eight – 2,363
Day Nine – 2,175
Day Ten – 1,782
Day Eleven – 2,124
Included in this post is one of my top ten all time favorite Monty Python sketches. I like it because it’s not quite as frenetic as some of the sketches, and the joke builds slowly and carefully. Then there’s that clever juxtaposition where the father (who loathes what his son does for a living) is the novelist and playwright, and the son is the hard working coal miner. “I like your fancy suit! Is that what they’re wearing in Yorkshire now?” “It’s just an ordinary suit, Father. It’s all I’ve got apart from the overalls.”
Love it!
